Jordan Davis and reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, Luke Bryan, delivered a heart-rending rendition of their No. 1 single “Buy Dirt” on the the ACM Awards.

Performing against a digital wheatfield backdrop, the country-casual-dressed singers performed had viewers at the palm of their hands as they performed the ruminative song. “Buy dirt / Find the one you can’t live without / Get a ring, let your knee hit the ground / Do what you love but call it work / And throw a little money in the plate at church / Send your prayers up and your roots down deep / Add a few limbs to your family tree / And watch their pencil marks and the grass in the yard all grow up,” they sing on the chorus.

“Buy Dirt” helped Davis enter the night with four nominations overall, including Single of the Year and Song of the Year. Meanwhile, Bryan also turned in a special pre-taped performance of his sentimental smash, “Up.”

Marking the first time a major country awards show aired exclusively as a live stream, the 57th annual ACM Awards took place on Monday (March 7) at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. Co-hosted by Dolly Parton with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, the show featured more than 20 performances and was carried by Amazon Prime Video.
