Jordan Davis strikes a reflective tone on the new track “Detours,” celebrating the wrong turns which ultimately put life on the right track.

Co-written by Davis with his brother Jacob and Dave Turnbull, the gracious midtempo was penned in honor of the hit maker’s wife and daughter — and all the other unexpected blessings in his life. With a contented vocal presence and one eye on the past, the Louisiana native croons about changes in direction which weren’t in his plans … and at first seemed like obstacles … but ultimately made him who he is.

“This song is probably one of my favorites I’ve ever written,” Davis says of the new song. “My life has changed so much since I moved to Nashville. From meeting Kristen, getting married and having Eloise to signing a record deal, landing back to back Number Ones and touring the country playing for fans, I pinch myself every day that this is my life. I’m so blessed and so grateful for all of the detours that led me to today.”

With his current single, “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot,” climbing up the country radio charts, Davis has also recently released the tracks “Trouble Town” and “Cool Anymore” (featuring Julia Michaels). Next week he’ll live stream a two-part performance of his entire debut album, Home State, taking place March 31 and April 1 at 4 p.m CT on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram Live.
