In his new track, “Lose You,” Jordan Davis promises to do whatever it takes to hold on to love, matching lyrical passion to smooth-as-satin sonics.

Featuring the pulsating vibe of ’80s new-wave pop, the track find Davis taking a vow of devotion. He looks around and sees couples breaking up and growing apart, and resolves to never let that happen in his own relationship. The hit maker co-wrote his romantic late-night jam with Josh Kerr, Josh Dorr and the track’s producer, Paul DiGiovanni, and says he didn’t have to look far for inspiration.

“When I sat down with the guys in the writer’s room that day, we were all just talking about our wives and we realized, ‘Hey, we are all married to amazing women so let’s not mess this up,’” Davis explains in a press statement. “That was really the genesis for this song … that we never want to lose the love we have, and we’d do anything to hold on to it.”

People break up, fall in and outta love / But giving this up is something I just won’t do / And I don’t wanna give you a reason to leave me / Watch you drive off in the night / I never wanna feel that freedom that people say they find / I don’t wanna know I don’t wanna know / I don’t wanna know what it’s like to lose you,” goes the quick-talking chorus.

First released in May as part of Davis’ self-titled EP, “Lose You” follows the current single, “Almost Maybes,” as well as the reflective “Detours” and spiritual “Church In a Chevy.” Jordan Davis continues to work on more new music and recently played the role of wedding singer, serenading a couple via Zoom who were forced to get married in a parking lot due to COVID-19. Their first dance song? “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot.”
