Breakout hitmaker Jordan Davis brings the everyday romance of his latest single to life in the new video for “Slow Dance In a Parking Lot.”

Directed by Patrick Tracy, the nostalgic clip follows a young kid from his early childhood all the way up through becoming a dad himself, shining a light on some important memories — all of which happen in parking lots. Street hockey with buddies, his first sips from a brown paper sack and tender twirling with his cheerleader girlfriend are all included, as well as the moment they first drove off as a married couple and yes, slow danced after finding out they would start a family.

“I’m really excited for this music video to come out,” Davis says in an official statement. “Patrick did a really great job with the script and I think it really adds another element to how special this song is.”

It might actually be more special than most fans know. “Slow Dance In a Parking Lot” isn’t just Davis’ third single (after back-to-back No.1s “Singles You Up” and “Take It From Me”), it’s the actual story of Davis’ co-writer Lonnie Fowler and his wife’s real-life first date. Davis and Fowler will both explain that super-romantic tale in depth — and how the song kickstarted Davis’ career — in a behind-the-song video premiering on Sounds Like Nashville soon.

In the meantime, Davis has some big news to share that dovetails right into the plot of his new video: The 31 year old and his wife of two years, Kristen, have just announced they’re expecting their first child.

“We are so thankful and so blessed,” Davis tells People. “This is a really special moment and we’ve been trying to drink it in and enjoy the process. We are looking forward to meeting the little guy or girl later this year.”

Davis just wrapped up his time on Old Dominion’s Make It Sweet Tour, and is set to hit the road opening for Rascal Flatts on their Summer Playlist Tour July 25 in Mountain View, California.
