Kacey Musgraves delivered a colorful message of hope during Global Citizen’s One World: Together at Home concert on Saturday (April 18), singing “Rainbow” for the at-home livestream.

Seated behind a piano to accompany her soft, songbird-quality vocal, the country singer first said a few words about why she was taking part in the star-studded event, which also featured names like Paul McCartney, Elton John and Beyonce.

“I just want to say a sincere thank you to all the people out there who are risking their lives to get everyone through this crazy time. Thank you, it means so much to me,” the Texas native said. “I’ve also really been loving seeing everyone’s rainbows in their windows, it inspired me to sing this song for you.”

While photos of hand-drawn rainbows from around the world inspired optimism and resilience, Musgraves crooned her heartwarming hit like a one-on-one lullaby, all about making the best of a sad situation. It was the perfect theme for an event created to raise money for front line health care workers through the World Health Association, and along with Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Maren Morris and more, the multi-hour event raised more than $127 million. “It’s gonna be alright,” Musgraves said as she finished up. “Everybody stay strong and stay inside.”
