Country star Kane Brown and pop icon John Legend have teamed up on a new collaboration, teasing the surprise news on social media.

On Friday (January 10), Brown shared a short video clip of himself inside his tour bus, singing along to a track on his phone. While there’s not much detail about the song itself — its title is still a mystery — the minute-long clip reveals it to be a piano-focused ballad with an emotional, pure-country hook, with Legend leading at leaset one verse Brown. For his part, Brown comes in on the track’s dramatic chorus.

“I won’t say I’m sorry, over and over / Can’t just say I’m sorry, I’ve got to show you / I won’t do it again / I’ll prove my love is true / I hope the last time I said sorry is the last time I’ll say sorry to you,” it goes.

Legend then confirmed the news via Twitter, saying that he and Brown wrote the tune last week (January 8) and plan to release it “ASAP.”

The track is just the latest high-profile collaboration for Brown, who scored a crossover hit with DJ Marshmello on “One Right Thing” earlier this year. That unlikely pair shared the stage on January 9 during Brown’s sold-out debut at Los Angeles Staples center, kicking off the arena’s 20th anniversary celebration.
