Kane Brown pours out his heart in a moving live performance of his track, “For My Daughter,” released today (June 21) in honor of Father’s Day.

Delivering an intimate live rendition of the touching ballad — backed only by fiddle and acoustic guitar and filmed inside an artsy studio set — the hit maker sings in honor of his young daughter, Kingsley Rose, who was born October 29, 2019. Showcasing the undeniable conviction of a brand new dad, it’s a steadfast promise to do better than the generation before … and devote his whole world to her.

“They say dads are supposed to shape you, in a way I guess mine did / I knew what I wouldn’t do if I ever had a kid / They say history repeats itself, well I guess that’s up to me / Yeah, I grew up without a dad, I’m gonna be the best one I can be,” goes the lump-in-your-throat chorus hook.

Brown first shared the song in November of 2019 (just days after Kingsley’s arrival), and since then its risen into the Top 20 of Billboard’s Hot Country chart mostly on strong streaming numbers. He’s got two radio singles out currently, “Cool Again” and the timely “Worldwide Beautiful.”
