Kane Brown aims to open hearts and minds to the beauty of diversity in the new track “Worldwide Beautiful,” dropping the big-picture anthem as protests continue to erupt nationwide.

Steeped in ideas of equality and justice, Brown offers up a spiritually-minded midtempo with a powerful purpose. Matching delicate, restrained guitars with Brown’s booming vocal and a laid-back beat, he asks listeners to look around and recognize the beauty in our quilt of humanity, stitching together observations from the stage with unyielding hope for a better future.

“I’m releasing this song early that I’ve been holding onto for a year,” Brown says in a post to social media about the track. “I’m hoping it will bring us together during this time and proceeds are being funded to the boys and girls club.”

“You’re missing every color, if you’re only seeing black and white / Tell me how you’re gonna change your mind, if your heart’s unmovable / We ain’t that different from each other, from one to another / I look around and see worldwide beautiful,” goes the cooperative chorus.

“Worldwide Beautiful” was co-written by Brown with Shy Carter, Ryan Hurd and Jordan Schmidt, and produced by Dann Huff. It arrives in the middle of back-to-back crises which have served to reveal indefensible fractures in American society, with the COVID-19 pandemic highlighting what all people share in common, and the death of George Floyd at the hands of police showing what we don’t. Brown sang another song of togetherness last night (June 3) during the CMT Celebrates Our Heroes special, closing the show with a rendition of the classic “Stand By Me.”
