Recently named in Nashville Lifestyles’ “Most Beautiful People” issue, country star Kelleigh Bannen showed fans why in the music video for her sultry song, “Diamonds.”

Directed by Carlos Ruiz, the video features clips of Bannen decked out in a chic plaid suit and singing passionately into a microphone intertwined with shots of the singer showing her more romantic side with a lover, played by actor Brendon Beck. Vintage film effects give the project a more old-school vibe, like that of a Lana Del Rey video.

Inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s infamous performance of “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend,” Bannen adds an intimate twist to the theme.

“We spent the day just trying to figure out how to make ‘Diamonds’ both about the bling, but also about the kind of love that makes you wanna put a ring on it,” the country starlet shared in an interview with Billboard.

“Diamonds” is the fourth song to be dropped ahead of Bannen’s upcoming album Favorite Colors, which is set for release on Oct. 11. The track follows previous singles “Deluxe,” “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Faith In You.”
