Kelsea Ballerini teams up with pop superstar Halsey in the latest episode of CMT Crossroads, and the first taste of their pairing is a vocally mesmerizing version of “Graveyard.”
Finding a sonic connection between Top 40 pop and modern country, the all-star duo dig deep into Halsey’s propulsive hit, trading verses with seamless charisma in front of a huge, outdoor crowd. Halsey begins the rhythmic standout before Ballerini jumps in to lend her shimmering voice to track, all about chasing a doomed relationship until there’s nowhere left for it to go. With the pair singing and grooving toe-to-toe, the performance was filmed in front of a massive audience in downtown Nashville at the Ascend Amphitheatre, marking the 70th CMT Crossroads episode to date.
Halsey’s Gold-certified “Graveyard” was released last September as the first single off her just released third album, Maniac, and Ballerini plans to drop the track “la” this Friday (January 24).
