Kelsea Ballerini made herself at home on the Season 20 finale of NBC’s The Voice, sharing a duet with contestant Kenzie Wheeler on her “Half of My Hometown.”

Moving through a set that was made to look like a young girl’s bedroom, straight into a dressing room and then out onto the gleaming TV stage, the performance mimicked Ballerini’s journey from small-town dreamer to arena-rocking country star. Pairing her sugar-sweet vocal with the gentle sting of Wheeler’s harmony, the duo helped bring the theme of Ballerini’s new single to life — which tributes her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, and life she left behind.

“So stay or leave / Part of me, will always be / Half of my hometown,” the pair sang.

“So much joy being a small part of this season of @nbcthevoice, and goodness it felt good to sing tonight,” Ballerini wrote on social media of the moment.

Her primetime performance came on the heels of releasing an official video for “Half of My Hometown,” with Ballerini imagining an alternate history where she never moved away. The original version of her grooving mid-tempo features background vocals by Kenny Chesney — who is also a native of the Knoxville area.

Meanwhile, Kelsea Ballerini just announced she’ll join The Jonas Brothers on the road this summer, opening shows on The Remember This tour. Season 20 of NBC’s The Voice wrapped up Tuesday night (May 25), with Cam Anthony crowned the winner.
