Rising country artist Kelsey Lamb is unveiling her brand new song, “When I Remember You,” Sounds Like Nashville has your exclusive first-listen of it.

The chest-thumping country tune finds Lamb revisiting the sweet memories of an old relationship. Unlike typical (feisty) breakup songs, the singer chooses to relish in the sweet memories of the past than dwell on the hurt inflicted, or cuss out the guy who let her down.

“When I remember you, it’s kissing in the rain / It’s only passion when you’re screaming out my name / It’s two kids running wild with nothing to lose, when I remember you,” the Little Rock, Arkansas native reflects on the soaring, emotional chorus. “When I remember you it’s dancing in the dark, sneaking out late just to stare at the stars / I don’t think about how you broke my heart in two, when I remember you.”

“I wrote ‘When I Remember You’ with Taylor Goyette and Chris Rafetto. I believe it was Chris that came in with this title and concept, and between the three of us and our stories, this song just fell out,” Lamb tells Sounds Like Nashville. “Originally, we thought it was more of a male song—but I just couldn’t get it out of my head. I felt like the story we told in this song was so true to my own story and so powerful that I knew I needed to cut this song.”

“I hope that when people hear this song, they feel nostalgic and at peace with their past,” she adds reflectively. “I think it’s so easy to look back on a relationship and dwell on the negative aspects, but when you can look back and find the sparkle and the moments that were magic… I think that’s really special.”

“When I Remember You” follows the talented singer-songwriter’s previous releases, which include “Come Here To Talk,” “Say It Again,” “Where Do You Go” and her rendition of Lady A’s hit single, “What If I Never Get Over You.”
