Dave Haywood, one-third of hit country group Lady Antebellum, always enjoys celebrations on his “big family vacation” this time of the year because it’s double happiness with his birthday on July 5th.

“We’d go to Hilton Head (birthday party), South Carolina, shoot fireworks, have barbecue and just kind of hang out with the family,” shared the Georgia native, who went to middle school with fellow Lady A member Charles Kelley.

The drive to South Carolina was made because fireworks weren’t legal in Georgia when he was younger. That and, he enjoyed traveling out with his buddies to “light something on fire in the woods.”

“It was fun. It’s always my big birthday celebration. So, it’s an exciting time.”

This Fourth Of July, the country trio will celebrate as headliners of the Marne Independence Day Celebration at Fort Steward Army Base in Haywood home state, where they will be performing their collection of hits and the critically-acclaimed new single, “What If I Never Get Over You.”

While getting their Big Machine Records debut album ready, Hillary Scott, Kelley and Haywood will still be out on the road this summer playing several shows across the country. For dates and tickets, click here.
