With new music comes a new tour and that’s exactly what Charles Kelley is setting out to do.

The singer, who recently released his solo single “The Driver,” told CMT Radio that he’s planning on going on a club tour this fall.

“I’m going to go out in the late fall into the winter and do some clubs that I’ve always dreamt of doing,” Kelley told CMT’s Cody Alan. “I want to take it down and dirty—just go do the club tour. I’ve always wanted to do that. I want to feel all the people all around me up close. I want to smell the beer coming out of the bar. And I want to throw the set list out, and just play.”

When asked if he wanted to be an opener for a headliner, Kelley declined, wanting to play the smaller venues instead. “I said, ‘Honestly man, Lady Antebellum kind of skipped all these levels. It just happened so fast, and we were opening up for Martina McBride before we knew it, playing arenas.’ We kind of skipped the club thing,” he explained.

No dates have been announced for the tour yet, but Kelley’s wife Cassie told him he has to wrap the tour by end of January. The couple’s first child, a boy, is due in February.

Kelley’s solo single, “The Driver,” was also featured on CountryMusicIsLove’s October installment of 10 Songs You Should Be Listening To Right Now. See the rest of the list HERE.
