Fans of Fox’s Last Man Standing know Jet Jurgensmeyer as the boisterous Boyd Baxter, but the young actor also has a second career as budding musician. And as a Nashville native, he’s obviously a big country fan.

In a cute new video premiering exclusively on Sounds Like Nashville, the pint sized picker delivers a heartwarming cover of one of his favorite country bands, playing Old Dominion’s recent hit, “Make It Sweet.” Singing for the camera with a big smile on a sunny day and accompanying himself and an acoustic guitar – he even has his own custom capo – the talented youngster seems to already know what the phrase “life is short, make it sweet” is all about.

“I’m such a fan of Old Dominion,” Jurgensmeyer says. “This song makes me smile every time I hear it. I always want to sing and get up and dance!”

Jurgensmeyer was born and raised in Nashville and began performing at the tender age of three, taking the stage at his parent’s restaurant, the storied Nashville Palace. Since then he’s become a fully fledged onscreen veteran and is currently starring on Last Man Standing, which just wrapped filming on Season 7.

Meanwhile, Jurgensmeyer’s uplifting “Real World” is out now and a country-inflected single is on the way in April. Plus, he’ll co-star in the adventure filled The Legend of 5 Mile Cave later this year.
