Lauren Alaina takes a twirl with her partner from Dancing With the Stars in the new video for “Getting Good,” finding reason to celebrate in the here and now.
Starring the fleet-footed couple in a cozy home of their own, Alaina and pro dancer Gleb Savchenko share a few tender turns as the song’s story plays out. It’s all about the catch-22 of looking ahead to a time when life will someday be perfect — and missing the perfect imperfections right in front of you — sung with a hopeful twist of optimism that translates right into the pair’s kitchen floor spinning and dipping. All the while, Alaina showcases a variety of wardrobe changes, moving seamlessly from casual cool to elegant evening gowns and even striking a sensual pose on the hood of a sports car.
“I’m thinking, once I learn to grow right where I’m planted / Maybe that’s when life starts getting good,” goes the chorus’ high-minded hook.
“I’m so proud of this song and the message behind it,” she shared when the song was first released. “Be present. Be thankful. Be sure that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. I hope you love it.”
Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko ended up finishing fourth on this season of Dancing With the Stars, while Bachelorette star Hannah Brown and her partner Alan Bersten took home the mirror ball trophy. “Getting Good” was released in September, just before Alaina started the show.
