Lauren Alaina returns with a reflective new single titled “Getting Good,” offering fans a vocal standout with a poignant message to go with it.

Written by Emily Weisband and produced by David Garcia, the mid-tempo track is out now and headed to country radio on October 7. It features comforting sonics and a mature theme of being thankful for what you’ve got, all about trading in the rat race and constant worry for a little happiness.

“Once I get a little older, I won’t worry / Then you get older and it don’t feel like it should / I’m thinking once I learn to grow right where I’m planted / Maybe that’s when life starts getting good,” goes the first chorus, with Alaina ultimately realizing that her life already is “good,” just the way it is.

“I’m so proud of this song and the message behind it,” she writes on social media. “Be present. Be thankful. Be sure that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. I hope you love it.”

“Getting Good” is the follow up to last year’s “Ladies in the ’90s,” and the second single released since Alaina’s acclaimed Road Less Traveled album in 2017. That project featured her first career Number One at country radio (“Road Less Traveled”), and she’s currently competing on this season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.
