Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Ell is gearing up for new music as she gets ready to head into the studio with famed producer Dann Huff soon. The two first connected when Ell hit the studio to work with Brantley Gilbert on their collaboration, “What Happens In A Small Town.”
Huff has been a longtime dream collaborator for Ell ever since she moved to Nashville. “He’s the one guitar-playing and producing idols ever since I got to town. The fact that we get to work together on this Brantley song for the first time was a good opportunity to be like ‘we need to do more together.’ So I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens.”
With the new record, fans can expect her writing and songs recorded to be nothing short of honest. “I feel like this next record, you know, a lot has happened in my personal life and my career over the past couple years and I’ve written about all of that.”
Sharing deeper, Ell said she wants to put out an album both the fans and her can be proud of. “I feel like, if I’m not writing completely honestly about how I feel, then fans aren’t going to believe it. And really I’m not going to be proud of my own record. And so, I’m just writing about the journey of what I’ve been through the past couple of years.”
The new album is slated to drop early next year.
The Broken Bow/Stoney Creek Records artist is currently on tour till the fall with Brantley Gilbert and Michael Ray on the former’s Not Like Us Tour, and will continue to play festivals in the summer when she is not on the road with Gilbert. For tickets and upcoming tour dates, click here.
