Logan Mize and Clare Dunn have a little flatbed fun in the new video for their duet, “Get ‘Em Together,” hauling a wide load of romantic good times.

Hitching up to a lighthearted anthem all about two hearts getting closer, the video is full of big-rig trucks, and it finds a pair of under-the-radar talents shifting gears. Mize and Dunn commandeer semis and set out to “get ‘em together,” turning their trailers into an instant concert stage and giving an impromptu performance. It’s a clever idea and a clip filled with smiles — just like the uptempo, country-rock song — but it didn’t come out of nowhere. Both artists actually have a background in trucking.

Apparently Mize got his commercial drivers license and drove trucks in Nashville before his music career took off, while Dunn, who grew up on a Colorado ranch, learned to navigate a semi as a young girl helping with the family’s crop harvest. She even worked as a driver hauling wheat harvest crews across the Southwest to raise money for college later on, and viewers can tell the stars know what their doing. The video was also filmed at Mize and his wife Jill Martin’s farm in Kansas, and directed by Martin’s cousin, Jordan Horsch.

“It’s a fun song, and I think the video helps show a fun side of both our personalities,” says Mize. “We shot the daytime scenes at my place in Kansas. I live on a dirt road that gets maybe two or three tractors down it a day, so we didn’t have to worry about shutting down roads. The performance shots were at the Mount Hope, Kansas, co-op which is about six miles or so from the house — I can see it from the front porch.”

“When people listen to this song, I hope they know that no matter where or how you grow up, if you work hard and always do the right thing, you can get where you want to be,” says Dunn. “Follow your heart and your vision — that’s what makes us each unique.”

“Get ‘Em Together” was written by Dallas Davidson, Mark Holman, Ben Hayslip and Justin Wilson. It’s featured on the new album from Logan Mize, Still That Kid, which will arrive on January 27, and it recently got a little love from NBC’s Today, where it aired as part of a video segment.
