Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith Among Those To Appear on New ‘Alabama & Friends’ Album

Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, and Toby Keith are all slated to be featured on Alabama’s new album, Alabama & Friends. The all-star album will feature a variety of artists singing the legendary band’s tunes. The album will be similar to Lionel Richie’s album Tuskegee, which was released last year.

Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Eli Young Band and Trisha Yearwood will also appear on the album. Many of the singers have already recorded their duets or are currently in the process of working on it. “The other day, Jason Aldean and [Alabama lead singer] Randy Owen were swapping verses,” Show Dog Universal Music president Mark Wright told Billboard.biz recently.

However, some songs will only feature the guest artists. “Alabama isn’t on every track. They’ll come and do some harmonies just to put the flavor on there, but it’s kind of hard when you have Rascal Flatts and Eli Young [Band], people who have their own band. It’s hard to put a band with a band,” Wright added.

Alabama & Friends will also include two new Alabama songs. They are the first new songs since the band had their farewell tour more than a decade ago. Fans might have to wait awhile for more new music though. When asked if fans can expect a new album Bright said, “Not yet.”
