Judging anything or anyone could cause a lot of stress if taken in the wrong regard, so Luke Bryan definitely gets nervous having to say goodbye to contestants on American Idol.

Although the country singer understands the tough job requirement, Bryan still feels uncomfortable when he displeases the other fans or viewers at home over his decisions. Admitting that he’s even seen people rip up his concert tickets online because they disagree with his Idol choices, Bryan grows more and more worn out by hurting other’s feelings.

“They hate it! But that’s what’s terrible about the show is that we have to eliminate people. I guess I didn’t think about that when I signed on. I was like, I guess I just thought we magically got to one…that I didn’t have anything to do with it,” Bryan joked with Jimmy Kimmel Live host Jimmy Kimmel.

It’s not all horrible for Bryan, though, as he’s formed quite the bond with his fellow judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. One day, Perry even invited herself and Bryan over for Sunday dinner at Richie’s house and the “Fast” singer learned a lot about the varieties of ceilings and art pieces in Richie’s lavish home.

“I’m kinda proud of my house. I’ve done pretty well, I decorate,” Bryan said before boasting up Richie’s abode instead. “I’ve never seen anything like this. Every ceiling in his house is different. We have like one thematic ceiling—white. I have one that’s got some oak—big oak beams—Lionel…every room…the bathrooms have different ceilings!”

Bryan also mentioned how he can’t wait for his What Makes You Country Tour to kick off this summer and to hit up the stadiums he dreamed of playing in one day even though his kids just laugh at his wonder.

Fans can catch Bryan for the rest of this season of American Idol on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
