Luke Bryan Pays Homage to Farming Roots in New Music Video

“I mean, my whole existence and 90% of the men that I grew up with in my life were all farmers and of that background," said Bryan.

Luke Bryan is paying homage to his roots in the new music video for “Here’s To The Farmer,” the title track from his upcoming Farm Tour EP. The clip was filmed during stops on Farm Tour past and highlights what the Georgia native loves best about growing up on a farm.

“My whole existence and 90 percent of the men that I grew up with in my life were all farmers and of that background. It was just what I knew. I saw the struggles that all of them dealt with. The things that they could control and the things they can’t,” Bryan told Sounds Like Nashville and other reporters recently. “It’s a pretty resilient business and at the end of the day, it was a great foundation of upbringing to prepare me for another type of farming, which is music. It’s all farming up something, whether you’re farming corn or songs, I guess. Certainly growing up like that taught me a lot and I’m certainly honored to have started the Farm Tour and now to have an album coming out to even talk about it a little more.”

The five-track project is reminiscent of themes found on his I’ll Stay Me and Doin’ My Thing albums, explained Bryan.

“What’s interesting is that a lot of that is what the start of my career was based on and I think some of my fans from the way back will appreciate that they may hear some of that stuff,” he said. “You’ll be able to hear some of that stuff that kind of sound like my earlier records.”

Farm Tour…Here’s To The Farmer is set for release on Sept. 23, just weeks before he kicks off his 2016 Farm Tour. The tour marks the eighth time Bryan has taken his show to some of the most rural farming communities in the country, a far cry away from his typical stadium shows.

“My whole thing with Farm Tours, and all of my shows, is try to make it the ultimate fan experience to where people feel like it was worth it and they want to come back and be a part of it again. There’s a lot of nuances to Farm Tour that are fun. You know, I’ll go do a stadium for 45,000 people and people are like ‘well, why do you want to go and play for 15,000 people?’ It’s not about playing for a number. It’s about playing for an environment, a setting and a situation for me. That’s my enjoyment.”

Luke will share his enjoyment with newly announced Farm Tour special guests Chris Janson, the Peach Pickers, Granger Smith and Jon Langston. See a full list of dates and respective lineups for the 2016 Farm Tour below…
