Luke Bryan has surprised fans with a sexy new single, releasing “Knockin’ Boots” today (3/29).

Featuring flirty, country-to-the-core lyrics and a slow groove that’s guaranteed to get summer concert crowds moving, the lighthearted tune is all all about things that are just meant to go together. It starts off slow and builds up to a smooth-rocking romantic anthem, pairing Bryan’s Georgia drawl with twangy guitar licks and a click track for good measure.

“Birds need bees and ice needs whiskey / Boys like me need girls like you to kiss me / ‘Fishin’ In The Dark’ needs Nitty Gritty, under that pale moon / Sweet tea needs that sugar stirring / Small town nights need both ends burning / Shades need drawing, hearts need falling / Boots need knockin’, knockin’ boots,” goes the chorus, written by Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Jon Nite.

“From the moment I heard this song I knew I had to get in the studio and record it,” said Bryan in a press release. “I just couldn’t get it out of my head.  This may be the fastest turn around I have ever done with a song.”

The track was produced by the father-son team of Jeff and Jody Stevens, and may be the first taste of an upcoming album project from Bryan. He posted a brief, solo-acoustic version of it for fans on Instagram Friday morning.
