Country star Luke Combs has a feel-good anthem dedicated to mending fences on the upcoming Angry Birds Movie 2, sharing “Let’s Just Be Friends” with fans on Friday (August 2).

An upbeat country rocker featuring the North Carolina native’s Smoky-Mountain vocal, twangy guitars and a hard driving beat, “Let’s Just Be Friends” is all about getting over grudges and giving friendship a shot — a theme which the movie itself seems to follow in teaser trailers. Angry Birds Movie 2 lands in theaters August 16 and features voice acting from stars Peter Dinklage, Leslie Jones, Bill Hader and more, including the children of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.

“Let’s just be friends, ain’t gotta fight about it, let’s find a way around it / Let’s just be friends, hey whatdya say? / If we don’t even know what we were fussin’ about, don’t you think it’s time we work it out? / Let’s just be friends,” goes the optimistic chorus.

One of country’s fastest rising superstars, Combs was recently inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry and just finished the summer leg of his headlining Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. His The Prequel EP came out in June featuring the chart-rising single, “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” and the tour gets back underway in September.
