Breakout superstar Luke Combs takes fans behind of the scenes of his red-hot career — and then south of the border for some much-needed R&R — in a video for the new track “Moon Over Mexico.”
Part of Combs’ just-released EP, The Prequel (out today, June 7th), the contented country anthem rolls in like a warm tropical breeze and finds itself a shady spot to settle down, filled with time-of-your-life lyrics and a classic sound that recalls Combs’ ’90s country heroes. Backing his burly, every-dude vocal with rich harmonies, the EP-closing track feels like a hit Brooks & Dunn or Kenny Chesney never got their hands on, while its video combines all-access footage of Combs’ Beer Never Broke My Heart headlining tour with a fun-filled vacation … and you can probably guess where it was.
“Under a moon over Mexico / Holdin’ onto you as the low tide rolls / Whatever that buzz was I ain’t felt it since but I can’t seem to let it go / There was a shine in the dark, a flame from a spark, and a lime in a Pacifico / Under a moon over Mexico,” goes the chorus.
Combs’ The Prequel follows the monumental success of his debut album, This One’s for You, and features four more tracks beyond “Moon Over Mexico” — including the current single “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”
