Maddie & Tae find light at the end of the tunnel in their new track “We Need Christmas,” finishing 2020 off on a much needed high note.
The moving new ballad finds Maddie (Marlow) Font and Taylor (Dye) Kerr singing of the season’s classic traditions and personal memories — and their power to uplift people in every stage of life — and they bring the poignant track to life in a classy new video. Looking sophisticated and red-carpet ready in a stunning pair of jaw-dropping ballroom gowns, the duo sing of how the love behind Christmas is needed more than ever, as they aim to spread light into a dark winter.
“We need Christmas now more than ever, bring us together / We need Christmas come on December, help us remember / The joy, the peace and the hope that love can bring / And the bells hear ‘em ring / Let all the angels sing / Oh we need Christmas,” goes the harmony-filled chorus.
“We’re all searching for joy these days, and the holiday season can bring just that,” the duo wrote on Instagram.
“We Need Chrismas” was written by Maddie & Tae along with AJ Pruis and Matthew West, and marks the title track of the country duo’s first ever holiday album, which is out now. The set was produced by Jimmy Robbins and Derek Wells, and along with “We Need Christmas,” also includes another new holiday original — the joyfully romantic “Merry Married Christmas” — among six warm-and-inviting tracks in total.
