In February of this year, Martina McBride announced that she was teaming up with Band Against Cancer to embark on the Sarah Cannon Tour in support of the organization. As the tour starts to pick up speed, the partnership has now announced the dates and supporting acts for the concert series.

The tour will make stops for cities like Dallas and Denver before heading to Nashville to play at the iconic Grand Ole Opry as the last venue of the tour. Joining McBride in Texas and Colorado will be supporting acts Thompson Square, Cassadee Pope and Hudson Moore to make for a fun-filled event that helps out a great cause in need. McBride will be joined by more artists for the Oct. 26 Nashville finale at the Grand Ole Opry.

Some of the profits from the tour will benefit the Sarah Cannon Fund at Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Be The Match, which is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program. Both of these programs aid those fighting cancers like leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.

“Every three minutes, one person in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Further, 70 percent of all blood cancer patients who are in need of a transplant do not have a matched donor in their family. We chose to begin our campaign by supporting people facing blood cancer, an underserved patient population requiring convenient access to cutting-edge treatment options in their communities,” said Dee Anna Smith, Sarah Cannon Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored to have Martina McBride and the country music industry band together with us to bring awareness to potentially life-saving treatments including stem cell transplants and the latest targeted medicines for patients.”

With the recent release of McBride’s new album, Reckless, the country singer knew she wanted to make a difference on her tour this time around. The partnership with Band Against Cancer did exactly that and McBride’s song featured on the new record, “Just Around the Corner,” will serve as the anthem for this campaign as she hits the road with friends. The song will also be a part of a contest that allows one fan and a guest to join McBride at the Nashville show.

“Helping families who are facing cancer has always been a cause that is near and dear to my heart,” said Martina McBride. “I’m honored to be the voice that delivers a message of hope and help through the Band Against Cancer movement and my new song, “Just Around the Corner.” Music has such power in bringing communities together and is a source of strength for those who need it. This is what our initiative is all about – empowering everyone to help in fighting this terrible disease.”
