Matt Roy Shares Acoustic Video For Confessional Love Song, ‘Easy To Find’
He co-wrote songs for Chris Janson, Chris Young, Kane Brown and more!
Hit country songwriter and now emerging artist Matt Roy has unveiled an acoustic performance video for his debut single, “Easy To Find,” and it is premiering exclusively on Sounds Like Nashville.
Shot in Music City, the no-frills visual captures Roy performing his romantic ode against a warmly lit studio backdrop. “We shot this acoustic performance video at a friends’ studio, The Amber Sound, here in Nashville. [It was a] run-n-gun shoot that turned out great,” the singer tells SLN.
Writing the track with Dan Couch, Roy shared that they “wanted to write something upbeat and easy to listen to.” “We kicked around an idea that went “girls like you are ‘hard to come by’ and ended up flipping it around to, ‘Girls like you ain’t ‘Easy To Find.’”
Unafraid to share his gratitude for his significant other, Roy confesses in the chorus, “I don’t how you do it baby, how you make it so easy / Easy to want, easy to love, easy to buy a diamond ring try to tie you up / Easy to think about, easy to dream about, easy to slow this fast-spinning world right out / But baby I know I’m gonna have to hold on tight / ‘Cause girls like you sure ain’t easy to find.”
A BMG-signed songwriter, Roy moved to Nashville in 2014 to enroll in Belmont University. After graduating, the Glen Rock, N.J. native committed to his craft as a songwriter. Since then, he’s had songs recorded by country superstars such as Chris Janson (“Done”), Chris Young (“If That Ain’t God”) and Kane Brown (“Pull It Off”). Last year, Roy celebrated his first-ever No. 1 as a songwriter with Janson’s RIAA-certified Gold single, “Done.” Most recently, the promising newcomer was also nominated for Breakthrough Songwriter at the 2021 MusicRow Awards.
