Up-and-coming country singer Matt Williams has released a moving music video for his latest song “Love On Somebody.”

The no-frills monochromatic visual captures Williams delivering the heartwarming tune, while highlighting the powerful importance of unity—particularly in light of the Black Lives Matter movement. On the clip, the singer also invites individuals of color and shares a simple joy-filled human connection with them. Separately, Williams is also captured burning a paper with the word “HATE” written on it, showcasing his vow to end hate and spread love.

“This song speaks so much truth in how we should be towards one another. It was powerful! I feel in our society today there is absolutely no reason for racism to exist, yet it does,” the U.S. Army Veteran shared with Sounds Like Nashville. “Our country needs to come together and unite and understand that we won’t always agree on things, but that’s the beauty of it, we don’t have to.”

He adds, “‘Love on Somebody’ should be our anthem as we walk hand in hand enjoying the freedoms of this beautiful country. I ask that everyone listen and let’s overcome this nonsense. Love on Somebody!”

Prior to this release, Williams shared his heartfelt covers of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” and Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes”—both of which have amassed significant attention from country fans online.
