Country artist Mickey Guyton digs deep into the bonds of female friendship for her inspiring new track, “Sisters,” out today (June 28).

Featuring soulful vocals and a bright, energizing sonic arrangement, the anthemic track finds Guyton promising a friend she’ll be both a shoulder to cry on, and her partner in crime. Co-written by the Texas-born singer with Nathan Spicer and Victoria Banks, it’s described as the first track released from an introspective period which found Guyton refocusing her energy on themes important to her personally.

“Sisterhood is truly what gets me through every day,” Guyton explains. “I have two sisters but anyone who knows me, knows I call all the women in my life sister. I wrote this song during a time when I challenged myself to write more honestly, be more open about my feelings, and reflect on how I’ve been uplifted by so many women in my life. ‘Sister’ is about my love relationship with all my sisters, and how we lean on each other through highs and lows.”

“Sister, I got your back on the long-drunk stumble home / Sister, I’ll be your hell yeah, when all you ever heard was no / I’m your speed dial call, I’m your late-night cry / I’m your shotgun seat, yeah I’m your ride or die / Sister, you’re gonna hurt but you ain’t gotta hurt alone,” goes the empowering chorus.

“Sisters” follows Guyton’s latest release, “Hold On,” a spiritually-charged ballad she wrote and performed for the recent film, Breakthrough, starring Chrissy Metz (This Is Us). She’s currently in the studio with Forest Glen Whitehead (Kelsea Ballerini), with more new music on the way.
