Mike Fisher & Carrie Underwood’s Son Helps Shave NHL Playoffs Beard

After a devastating loss in game seven of round two in the NHL playoffs, the Nashville Predators’ journey to the Stanley Cup has come to a close. Though the team fought hard for a second chance at the cup, the Winnipeg Jets played just a bit harder, coming out on top of Thursday night’s (5/10) game.

As the team prepares to hang up their skates, they must also take care of another hockey tradition. During the playoffs, players typically forego shaving and grow tremendous beards, in hopes that their superstitious tradition will help them get the edge. Mike Fisher, former Preds captain, was one of those players who grew a hearty beard during the playoff season.

Fisher, who is married to country superstar Carrie Underwood, came out of retirement after half a season off in hopes of joining his team in their quest to become Stanley Cup victors. While they came up short, Fisher had the support of his family and even allowed the couple’s three-year-old son Isaiah the honor of shaving his all important playoff beard.

“Prediction: This won’t end well…,” Underwood captioned the adorable clip posted to Instagram.

As a child, I wanted nothing more than to make my parents proud of me…and now, as a mother, I want to make my child proud… He never really gets to see me sing because he’s in bed before I go on stage, but last night he was there to watch his daddy play…and he also got see his mommy sing for a minute. Thanks, @iveychilders for catching this little moment…my heart is happy…❤️

Isaiah has been an integral part of the couple’s playoff season, as he’s attended many games with his proud parents. Underwood shared numerous photos of the family creating memories together for what could be Fisher’s final season. She also had the honor of singing the National Anthem for the pumped up Music City crowd, as her excited son watched and cheered along.

While there is no word on whether or not Fisher will once again hang up his skates, the family will enjoy some precious together-time as they wait for Underwood to kick up her career once again with the release of her new album, Cry Pretty, out this fall.
