Miranda Lambert has been keeping a few aces up her sleeve as her Wildcard Tour ramps up — including a special homecoming treat.

During last weekend’s show in Dallas, the Texas native invited a high school choir to join her onstage and sing some background on the emotional “Tin Man” — but it wasn’t just any old high school choir. It was the group from Lindale High School, her alma mater.

Gathered around the magnetic superstar as she strummed an acoustic guitar, the choir elevated “Tin Man” to new heights, adding another layer to a track all about wishing you didn’t have a heart to break. The track originally appeared on Lambert’s The Weight of These Wings double album, and she posted a backstage video of the choir warming up before their big moment.

Meanwhile, the Wildcard Tour hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Lambert. She spent the week prior to her big homecoming recovering from an illness which forced her to postpone shows in Salt Lake City and Denver. Up next is a run of shows in California at the end of the month, and Lambert’s Wildcard album is out now.
