Miranda Lambert gives fans a look at the peaceful tranquility of her home life in the new music video for her current single, “Settling Down.”
Directed by Trey Fanjoy and filmed on Lambert’s ranch in Tennessee, the revealing video is focused on some of the most important things in the globe-trotting superstar’s life — the things that make “settling down” such a tempting idea.
Featuring slow-motion shots of Lambert galloping across her land, chilling in the sunshine and enjoying a romantic evening at home, the project highlights the dual nature of her personality. One part craves adventure and exploration, she explains, while the other just wants to be home and appreciate the little things, and that dynamic plays out on screen. The video includes cameos by Lambert’s real-life horse, Gibson, and one of her many rescue dogs, Delta Dawn, and it also co-stars her husband, Brendan McLoughlin … who makes his public debut in shirtless fashion.
“The ‘Settling Down’ video is very personal to me because it was filmed at my farm and my husband got to be in the video with me,” said Lambert. “My mom always called me a wild child and a homing pigeon. I always have an itch to find a new adventure, but I’m also always ready to walk through my front door. I feel like a lot of people feel that way, and ‘Settling Down’ tells the story of being caught between those two feelings.”
In a social media Q&A with fans held this past Monday (October 19), Lambert said she enjoyed filming the clip since it meant she could spend the entire day outside with McLoughlin — and that she made sure to stay hydrated by drinking a few glasses of her Red 55 Winery Wine on set.
Miranda Lambert’s thoughtful “Settling Down” is out now and already inside the Top 40 at country radio, as the acclaimed artist looks for another hit. “Settling Down” is the most recent single from Lambert’s Wildcard album, and follows her chart topper, “Bluebird.”
