What happens in a hair salon stays in the hair salon. Making nice with her fellow dryer chair neighbors, Miranda Lambert claims “We Should Be Friends” in the new music video for her latest radio single.

Set in a traditional small town in the middle of nowhere where everyone knows everyone (and their private business), Lambert steps in to curl up and dye amongst her fellow judgmental residents. The salon, though, seems like her kind of place with Miller Lite beer can curlers and lighthearted gossipers giving the scoop on the whereabouts in town.

The country singer even gets her boondock makeover from a ratty scarf updo to gorgeous glam waves and a color change worthy of the high class. Getting to know the eclectic bunch around her at the House of Beauty, Lambert struts off good as new after her therapeutic visit, trim and styling included.

The video includes guest appearances by songwriters Natalie Hemby and Waylon Payne, whom each have credits on Lambert’s latest album, The Weight of These Wings.

“We Should Be Friends” shows off Lambert’s sassy side as she wrote the track by herself. Cut for the record as an honest, yet cheeky, sentiment to those she surrounds herself with, Lambert just wanted to be a little bit punchy for the last song she put onto the record.

“That’s actually the last song I wrote for the record. I woke my mom up at 1 am and I was like ‘Hey, I need you to hear this. It’s the last one. I’m cuttin’. It’s the last week in the studio.’ I wanted one that I wrote alone that was really reflective of the people in my life and me. It started as kind of a sad song but then I just had a party all by myself with my guitar and it turned out to be that,” she said recently.
