Singer/songwriter Mitch Rossell has released a heartwarming music video for his uplifting new song, “American Dream.” Co-written by Rossell and Dave Turnbull, the ballad is sure to hit home with anyone who has been hustling through countless odds to achieve their dreams.

I’ve worked hard, put in my time / Chased the stars and earned my stripes / And I will fight until I die / To keep this American Dream alive,” Rossell sings as he recommits himself to what the dream stands for.

The tear-jerking visual, co-directed by Rossell and Austin Peckham, captures the life of a hardworking, blue-collar family who lives their life according to the American dream. Both grandfather and father aren’t afraid to put in the hours and work just so that they can support their family’s happiness. Evidently, the indispensable value of kinship and not giving up on one’s dreams are two anchors that the family is grounded on.

“There’s nothing like putting in the time and the work and seeing your dreams come true right before your eyes. I thank God every day for my right to pursue my dreams, and even more than that, for my children’s right to pursue theirs. I hope this song gives people something unifying to cling to in such a divisive time,” shared Rossell in a statement.

“American Dream” is the first new release from the East Tennessee native this year, and follows 2019’s “All I Need to See” and “Ask Me How I Know”— both of which garnered over 8 million streams on Spotify alone. The latter was also recorded by Garth Brooks for his Gunslinger album in 2016, released as single, and reached number one on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart in 2017.
