In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, country singer Mitchell Tenpenny has made the most of self-isolation by working on new music, having shared his brand new single “Here.”

Penned by Tenpenny, Jordan Schmidt and Marc Beeson, “Here” is a soulful piece of country pop with a soaring chorus all about living life to the fullest. “I wanna feel it all, do everything I want to do while I’m here,” the crooner sings.

“When I went into my writing session the day we wrote this song, the guys asked me what I had been up to,” Tenpenny said. “I had been working on the truck my dad left me when he passed. I was just overtly aware that life can be short and it left me with this feeling that all we have is right here, right now.”

The Riser House/Columbia Nashville artist originally teased the song during a #TenpennyTuesdays Live Q&A held on his Instagram, something that he plans on continuing through April. Tenpenny has a busy year ahead of him as he will hit the road to support Jason Aldean’s We back Tour in the summer and will headline his first show at the Ryman Auditorium in October.
