Morgan Wallen and Diplo Drop New Julia Michaels Remix of ‘Heartless’
Wallen reveals plans for first-ever headline UK tour.
Pop star Julia Michaels joins Diplo and Morgan Wallen for a new version of their Platinum certified country crossover, “Heartless,” bringing a fresh element of drama to the hot-blooded hit.
Dropping a “too country for pop and too pop for country” beat alongside an electrifying new vocal mix, the updated track finds Michaels and Wallen playing off each other with a potent sense of fed-up frustration. They trade verses and blend harmonies through the hook-heavy chorus, with Diplo’s track now seeming to propel the jilted stars toward something new.
Meanwhile, the remix comes to life in a gritty video directed by Brandon Dermer and filmed at a dreary roadside motel in Nashville. Imagining Wallen and Michaels living out the same heartbreak in adjacent rooms, at first they’re just trying to salvage a pair of relationships on the rocks … but after sharing a sympathetic glance, both find a spark of boldness and leave their “Heartless” partners on the spot.
In other news, Wallen has also announced his first ever headlining UK tour, revealing four dates in England and Scotland this May with “Rednecker” singer Hardy. The rising star will follow those up with a spot on Luke Bryan’s Proud to Be Right Here Tour starting May 28, and is currently on the road with Jason Aldean’s We Back Tour. Speaking with Sounds Like Nashville last month, Wallen said he expects to release a new album this year.
