Breakout hitmaker Morgan Wallen applies his acid-washed vocal to a new EDM crossover with superstar DJ, Diplo, sharing the smooth-burning track “Heartless.”

Now releasing country-inspired tunes under his actual name, Thomas Wesley, Diplo’s latest concoction is potent mix of country heart and dance-floor heat, with a slow rolling rhythm built on drum-machined beats and finger snaps. Underneath that is a layer of delicate guitar strumming, while Wallen lets his gravelly voice loose to lament an uncaring lover.

“Why you gotta be so heartless / I know you think it’s harmless / You’re tearin’ me apart, and / Girl the hardest part is / You’re so high on attention / Takin’ miles from inches / Leave me in the darkness / Never finish what we started / Girl, why you gotta be so heartless,” goes the grooving chorus.

Diplo’s collaboration with Wallen is one of a number of country crossovers from the international star, and follows the pulsating “So Long” with Cam. That surprising release featured a video shot at this year’s Stagecoach festival where “Thomas Wesley” made his debut, and according to Wallen, the official visuals for “Heartless” are on the way.

Wallen’s current single “Chasin’ You” is out now follows back to back Platinum No.1s, “Up Down” (featuring Florida Georgia Line) and “Whiskey Glasses.” He’s on the road with FGL for the Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour and joins Luke Combs’ Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour this fall.
