Morgan Wallen gets torn between two loves in “More Than My Hometown,” forced to choose between the love of his life and the life he loves.

A vivid new midtempo from his upcoming second album, the track was co-written by Wallen with Michael Hardy, Ernest Keith Smith and Ryan Vojtesak, all about a couple at the end of their rope. With heartbreak coursing through his veins and an emotion crack to his gravelly drawl, the rising hitmaker pleads with his small town sweetheart not to chase her big-city dreams.

“I love you more than a California sunset / More than a beer when you’re not 21 yet,” he croons, all the while knowing he and his girl have different needs. “I can’t love you more than my hometown,” he soberingly concludes.

Produced by Joey Moi, who also guided Wallen’s breakout If I Know Me, “More Than My Hometown” is the second track unveiled from his upcoming sophomore effort. It follows the New Year’s day release of his reflective “This Bar,” and the multi-Platinum star has also shared an early draft of a thoughtful track titled “Wonderin’ Bout the Wind.” His current single, “Chasin’ You,” is now inside country radio’s Top Five.
