Rising star Morgan Wallen takes a well-deserved look in the rear view with the new track, “This Bar,” paying tribute to the good times and good people of his past.

Written by Wallen with Michael Hardy, Jackson Morgan, Jake Scott, Ernest K Smith and Ryan Vojtesak, the sepia-toned standout is all about the late nights and hazy memories that punctuate a life story — and ultimately help make you who you are. It was produced by hit maker Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen), with Morgan’s gritty vocal leading a sunset chasing, coming-of-age anthem.

“I found myself in this bar / Makin’ mistakes and makin’ new friends / I was growin’ up and nothin’ made sense / Buzzin all night like neon in the dark / I found myself in this bar,” goes the nostalgic chorus.

The track follows a big year for the Tennessee newcomer, who scored his second straight Platinum No.1 with “Whiskey Glasses,” toured with Luke Combs and posted his first career CMA nomination for New Artist of the Year. He’ll keep the throttle open as 2020 begins, kicking off his headlining Whiskey Glasses Roadshow tonight (January 2) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. See the full list of dates here.
