As the April 21 release date of his much anticipated 11th studio album nears, country superstar Brad Paisley is letting fans in on additional details surrounding the project.

Entitled Love and War, the album will feature 16 tracks, all of which were co-written by Paisley. In addition to the West Virginia native’s songwriting and producing credits, the project will also feature several other major superstars from various genres of music.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Mick Jagger and John Fogerty, Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Anderson and hip hop-R&B artist-producer Timbaland are each listed as vocal and songwriter guests on the just-released track list. In addition, the late Johnny Cash is also listed with a songwriting credit on the track “Gold All Over the Ground.”

The lead single from the project, “Today,” is currently in the Top 5 at country radio and has struck chords with listeners worldwide. The tune that reminds listeners to stop and enjoy the little moments in life has fans reaching out to the singer to share their own personal stories. Recently, on the night he was putting the final touches on the album, Paisley received a special note from a soldier fighting overseas.

“There is a woman, a soldier, serving who, while I am feverishly trying to get this record done called ‘Love and War…She’s using the first single off of it for the exact purpose I recorded that song, which is ‘hang on to those memories that get you through the rough times,’” he explained. “I wrote her back and said that ‘as she’s writing the email, I’m mixing the album, and I turned it into my record label today and it’s called ‘Love and War,’ serendipitously, it seems you have reminded me why I do what I do as well.’ I’m gonna work out meeting her somewhere out there when she gets back. I hope she stays safe.”
