With the buzz of their past hits “Break Up With Him” and “Snapback” on their side, Old Dominion has announced a new single, “Song for Another Time,” hitting radio soon.

Coming off their record, Meat and Candy, the third single for the country band introduces another side of the group to their audience. The romance is alive in the track, with some of the lyrics mentioning the names of other hit songs.

“We felt like it was time to show a little bit more of the meat side of Meat and Candy,” lead singer Matt Ramsey told The Boot about the release.

While the song is about to hit radio airwaves soon, Ramsey admits they almost let the song go before ultimately deciding to put it on the record.

“We wrote it after we thought we were done with the album,” Ramsey explained. “We got done, and we said, ‘We’ve got to have this song on there,’ so we booked a special flight, got everybody back together.”

It wasn’t until the guys went on the road with Kenny Chesney that they realized the track was the real deal. They immediately went to record it and the rest is history.

“We were actually at a soundcheck. We were on the Chesney tour, and we soundchecked with it one day,” Ramsey said. “It felt so big, just hearing it echo through the stadium. We were all like, ‘Man. This is a big song.’ So we went home and recorded it.”
