On the Road: Miranda Lambert’s Keeper of the Flame Tour with Kip Moore & Brothers Osborne

Seven-time Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert kicked off her much-anticipated Keeper of the Flame Tour with special guests Kip Moore and Brothers Osborne last weekend. The Sounds Like Nashville cameras were there as the star-studded tour rolled into a chilly Klipsch Music Center just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday (May 14).

Prior to the show, we caught up with Lambert and her tour mates, who were a bit surprised by the dropping temps.

“It was literally sleeting…in May,” Lambert told us with a smile. Earlier that day, she and her crew used the cold as an excuse to go shopping at a nearby Cabela’s to stock up on hoodies and beanies.

Moore, on the other hand, was not as prepared. His signature sleeveless look was not paying off that night. “I’m gonna have to borrow that jacket on you,” he confessed to our producer.

Despite the cooler temperatures, Lambert’s fans showed up in droves, ready to rock.

“I can’t believe people are showing up in all kinds of weather and so ready to drink beer and raise hell,” the Texas native told us backstage.

The previous night, rain poured down throughout Lambert’s entire set, but that didn’t seem to bother anyone.

“No one left,” John Osborne recalled. “They were out there just getting down.”

While Lambert admitted she was “nervous” to get back on the road, her nerves were instantly calmed when she stepped onto the stage that first night.

“The first time you see all those people after you’ve been off for a while, it’s pretty incredible,” she shared.

The Keeper of the Flame Tour is Lambert at her best. Her 20-song set spans her biggest hits and a few surprise covers.

“Musically, I’ve switched the set list up, doing some old songs, doing new covers, and hopefully, really soon, adding some new songs from the new project I’ve been working on,” Lambert explained.
