‘An Opry Salute To Ray Charles’ Announces Premiere Date

An Opry Salute To Ray Charles is set to premiere this Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, on Nashville Public Television (WNPT-TV, Channel 8), in advance of the nationwide syndication on public television station on September 5, 2019.

The 90-minute television special, which taped last October, is a collaboration between the Grand Ole Opry, Ray Charles Foundation and American Public Television, and will celebrate the songs of the legendary performer.

Hosted by Opry member Darius Rucker, An Opry Salute to Ray Charles unites two iconic entities with unique collaborations and special performances of Charles’ music, performed by a star-studded lineup of artists. Included in this list are Boyz II Men, Cam, Brett Eldredge, Leela James, Jessie Key, Ronnie Milsap, Lukas Nelson, LeAnn Rimes, Allen Stone, Travis Tritt, Charlie Wilson, Trisha Yearwood and Chris Young.
