Hasting & Co. Share Nostalgic New Video for ‘American Love’

Country duo Hasting & Co. have unveiled the long-awaited video for their current single “American Love.” The video, which is premiering exclusively on Sounds Like Nashville, is a tribute to lead singer Kate Hasting’s parents’ inspiring love story.

The clip comes after a tough time for the Hasting family, as the patriarch Dan died in a car accident during the summer of 2018. Hasting’s mother Libbee was also in the accident and was left critically injured. It was an emotionally devastating time for the family, but Libbee Hasting insisted that the duo, consisting of her daughter and Josh Beale, continue with their work.

“This song was something we felt like we had to release,” Hasting tells Sounds Like Nashville. “My father didn’t survive the accident and it’s arguably the hardest thing we’ve all ever lived through.”

The video is a nostalgic one, featuring scenes of Hasting’s home county fair, as well as footage of her dad farming and photos of Dan and Libbee throughout their life together.

“My parents were the definition of ‘American Love,’” Hasting shares. “They were high school sweethearts and made their marriage work through hard work and a constant faith in the Lord.”

Those values of hard work and faith are currently helping Libbee Hasting make strides in her recovery.

“I’ve never met a woman with more strength, determination and faith,” the songstress concedes. “She’s got a long road ahead – she’s still recovering and learning to walk again, but she’s doing well and excited for what’s to come.”
