Country superstar group Rascal Flatts has been on the road for over 20 years and has seen all the changes both in the music industry and country music throughout that time. And in 2019, the trio is still sticking around and showcasing their longevity, especially with their ongoing Summer Playlist Tour and current single “Back To Life,” that is on the cusp of hitting Top 20 on the country radio charts.

“That’s a God thing really. And it’s amazing because I think when we came out it was just Brad, Keith and us that are left from that class,” shared front-man/lead singer Gary LeVox on the band’s long-lasting career. “But to be here this many years later, still be relevant, still creating music that people want to hear… it’s just phenomenal. [We] pinch ourselves every day. I know every artist says that, but we really, really do.”

Jay DeMarcus, one third of the group, added that he doesn’t see them not playing or making music together in some capacity, ever.

“It may be years from now that we’re just doing the Opry a few times a year. [We might be] old men just sitting on our porch, getting around playing with our guitars, but I think the three of us will be making music together somehow until one of us kicks the bucket. I just don’t imagine we’ll be one of those bands that’ll go, ‘We’re retiring. It’s over.’”

While the multi award-winning country group are grateful for the opportunities that have presented itself over the years and even for what they have today, they are realistic about the odds of going out on tour down the road.

“I don’t know if we’ll do a hundred dates ever again. It’ll look different as time goes on. And I know Gary has said before, he didn’t want to be 60 singing ‘Praying for Daylight,’” shared DeMarcus with a tongue in cheek laugh.
