Reba Brings Back the 90s in her Iconic ACM Red Dress

Reba McEntire returned as host at this year’s 53rd Annual ACM award show and she brought a piece of history with her: the iconic red dress that made its debut at the 1993 show.

The plunging-neckline ensemble was first seen when McEntire performed her hit single “Does He Love You?” 25 years ago at the ACMs. This year, the dress was resurrected for a performance of the same song, but this time she partnered up with the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, to bring the track to life.

“I want to give a big shout out to Sandi Spika who made this dress for me to wear to sing that song 25 years ago. Sandi, you rock,” McEntire said following her performance.

Despite being 63-years-old, the queen of country music made the one-of-a-kind dress look flawless. But some of her friends still remember the first time the dress made headlines.

“I mean, Reba is a beautiful woman, but she’s like your sis! She is to me,” ACM host at the time Vince Gill added. “But what’s great about that moment was that it was unexpected out of Reba.”

McEntire still remembers that 1993 show, even if she didn’t take home any hardware.

“I didn’t win an award,” McEntire added, “but I did make the front page of the paper the next day!”

The 53rd Annual ACM Awards were hosted by Reba, and aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
