Russell Dickerson is officially a father! The “Love You Like I Used To” singer and his wife, Kailey, welcomed their first child together on Sept. 10.

The couple’s son, Remington Edward Dickerson, makes the Dickerson’s officially a family of three. The baby arrived at 3:23 p.m. on Sept. 10, weighing 10 lbs., 4 oz., reports People.

Dickerson announced that he and Kailey were expecting in April after spending nearly nine months trying to conceive. “It just got to the point where we’re like, ‘Well, if it happens, it happens. It’ll happen when it does,’” he told People at the time. “It’s all God’s timing on that part. So yeah, I was completely surprised.”

His wife revealed she was pregnant on New Year’s Day 2020. She told him he had one more Christmas present in a stocking and when he went to look, he found a pair of booties and big white letters that read, “Best Dad.”

In June, the couple revealed the baby’s gender via social media. Dickerson found out first and went to Target to pick out some clothes, including infant overalls, before surprising his wife with the news that a son was on the way.

“One of the first things I am looking forward to with my son is to take him camping,” Dickerson said, before explaining his child’s future nursery. “This room already feels like we are. The curtains feel like a canvas tent and the wood furniture feels like the forest outside his windows.”
