Russell Dickerson shares the memories that fill his heart in the new video for “Home Sweet,” a clip made from home movies he never thought the world would see.

Released on the eight-year anniversary of Dickerson’s proposal to his now-wife, Kailey, the tender video montage aims to prove that home really is wherever the heart is. Beginning with actual footage of that life changing-marriage proposal, it continues on to trace the family’s story — which now includes a red-hot career, a home of their own and a son named Remington, who was born in 2020.

All in all, it may contain more personal meaning for Dickerson than any other video so far. And he says it’s the same for the song.

“Home Sweet is in my Top 5 best songs I’ve ever been a part of writing,” he says in the video’s official reveal. “The stories portrayed and the emotions felt are all real life experiences all wrapped up in this all-out anthem!”

“Home sweet, you and me / Ain’t got much, but we got all we need / Wherever the wind blows, wherever this life goes / Baby, all I know, ain’t nothin’ like, nothin’ like / Home sweet / You and me,” goes the chorus.

“Eight years ago today I asked the girl of my dreams to marry me,” Dickerson says on Instagram. “She said yes and the rest is history. This video shares some of my favorite memories over the years that have inspired not only this song but so many others.”

Out now and marking yet another honey-flavored romantic anthem, “Home Sweet” arrives with Dickerson sitting on four country radio hits in a row. “Yours,” “Blue Tacoma,” “Every Little Thing” and “Love You Like I Used To” all went to Number One on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, and the hit maker released his second album, Southern Symphony, in December.
