Sam Hunt Jumps In ‘My Truck’ Remix With Breland

Sam Hunt hitches his wagon to a viral hit in “My Truck,” joining Atlanta-based artist Breland for a remix of a country-trap smash.

Described by the New York Times as “a rare opportunity to collaborate with someone who approached the country-rap divide from the other side,” Hunt adds a couple country-to-the-core verses to the streaming standout, explaining that it reminded him of Hank Williams Jr.‘s “All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down).” Spitting lines about rusted floor boards, Mossberg shotguns and loose change rattled by the thump of a Bone Thugs ‘n Harmony CD, the 4×4 ode gets some much-needed first hand knowledge.

“Sam is one of my favorite artists and a pioneer in country music,” Breland says of Hunt, the mutli-Platinum hit maker who’s brought more than his fair share of hip-hop influence to country. “I couldn’t think of a more fitting artist to be on this type of genre-bending song. I think he brings an incredible energy to it!”

Hunt even joins Breland for a back-road repping music video for the track, and it’s just part of the wave of new music the country star’s unleashed recently. Along with his chart-climbing current single, “Hard to Forget,” the singer-songwriter also shared a train-hopping video for the track “Young Once,” both of which are featured on his new album, Southside.
